Principles of CNC machining

The feed processing route of the CNC lathe refers to the path through which the turning tool starts to move from the tool setting point (or the fixed origin of the machine tool) to the return point and ends the machining program, including the path of cutting and the non-cutting idle stroke path such as the cutter cutting in and out.


The feed route for finishing is basically carried out in the sequence of its part contours, so the focus of the work on determining the feed route is to determine the feed route for roughing and empty strokes.


In CNC lathe machining, the determination of the processing route generally follows the following principles.
(1) It should be able to ensure the accuracy and surface roughness of the workpiece to be processed.
(2) Make the processing route shortest, reduce the idle travel time, and improve the processing efficiency.
(3) Simplify the workload of numerical calculation as much as possible and simplify the processing procedure.
(4) For some reused programs, subroutines should be used.
